General Laborer / Equipment Operator
Hubbell Excavating is seeking a motivated, dependable team member to join our field operations as a General Laborer / Equipment Operator. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and is committed to maintaining a safe and productive jobsite.
As part of our crew, you'll assist with a wide variety of excavation and site work projects, including utility installations, grading, driveway construction, site preparation, drainage systems, and more. Depending on experience and qualifications, you'll operate heavy equipment such as excavators, skid steers, loaders, and other construction machinery while also supporting the crew with general labor tasks as needed.
Responsibilities
Safely operate heavy equipment in accordance with company procedures
Perform excavation, grading, trenching, and material handling
Assist with utility installation, drainage systems, and site preparation
Load, unload, and transport tools, materials, and equipment
Perform general labor duties including digging, raking, shoveling, and jobsite cleanup
Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
Represent Hubbell Excavating professionally on every jobsite
Qualifications
You must be 18 years of age or older to apply
Strong work ethic and positive attitude
Ability to perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions
Experience operating construction equipment preferred (training available for the right candidate)
Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Commitment to safety, reliability, and quality workmanship
